Sandy, I had lost touch with Kevin in the years after I left CBS News. But I can say with confidence I never would have made it through my first year with the network without Kevin. He was a calm, confident, reassuring friend in those early days. I'd get worked up over a situation - then call Kevin to ask what the heck I should do. He'd make me laugh, then insult the person who was pissing me off, then say go back to work. I'm sorry I can't be there tomorrow. Kevin was a great friend throughout my ten years at CBS.
