Jennings “Jay” Bryan Labrum
In Loving Memory
So sorry to hear of the passing of Jay. I worked with the Lieutenant at the Sheriff's office and was tickled to see him in the stands at a few of the Juan Diego basketball games.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories

Dear Sandy,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. I loved working for Lt. Labrum at the Fort Union Office along with the Community Policing Team. May he rest in peace.

I had the great fortune of meeting Jay when I was a "rookie" Robbery Detective with Salt Lake City PD. Our Squad worked many combined case investigations and following many "bad guys" with Jay and his partner Dick Judd and others. Jay was always the professional but more importantly, he was a genuine nice man! I offer my condolences to his family.
So sorry, Sherry, to hear of your dad's passing. I cannot even imagine how very much you will all miss him. My heartfelt sympathy with you, your mom, sister, and family, at this difficult time.
- I was saddened to hear about Jay's death. Law enforcement is a "fraternity of brothers." I haven't seen or spoken to Jay in years. We both served in the First Salt Lake County Sheriffs Tactical Squad in the early 70's. We again served in Detectives several years later. I do remember Jay as a consummate professional and skilled detective. Jay lived a very productive life and his service to the community will live on with those who knew and worked with him.
My sincere condolences to his whole family. Jay was one of the good guys. Rest In Peace. Larry Hays
Uncle Jay you will be greatly missed by all. We all couldn't have ask for a better Uncle than you. Mom has that lemon pie waiting for you that you always ask her to make.
Aunt Sandy, Kris, Sherry and family you all are on my thoughts and prayers.
I will forever miss one of the greatest Uncle's anyone could have! You were truly one of the good ones!
love you Uncle Bones. ❤️❤️
Debbie
So sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Uncle Jay. May you all find peace in your memories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Uncle Jay will be deeply missed. Love You
I worked with Jay at the SO and we had some good times. We worked together to start the Safe Passage program and Jay was a driving force in its creation. He also worked very well with outside agencies and brought several assets to the Sheriffs office such as the bike rodeo trailer that he got with the assistance of Utah Highway Safety. He was a great ambassador for the Sheriffs Office and the concept of community policing really clicked with him.
one of my fondest memories of Jay was when my Dad died Jay was on vacation in Yellowstone and I think he'd only been there for a day or two. My dad's viewing was going to be held while he was away. About into the viewing here came Jay into the building to pay his respects. His effort to be there for me really meant a lot. I think he was that kind of person to everyone.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jay and his family. Jay and I worked together for many years at the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office and he was a dedicated and professional officer. God be with you...
RIP
Glen
