Albert Perfili
Albert "Al" Perfili also known as Chubby passed away from cancer Monday, August 28, 2017. This incredibly handsome man jumped into his beautiful young body, and took off in flight and went home to be with our Lord. Dad was the most amazing father, husband, friend, brother, nephew, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, and neighbor. Dad was born in Tooele, Utah to Guistino and Pasqualina (Frattarelli) Perfili. Dad was one of ten Brothers and Sisters. He was raised in a very loving family, deep-rooted in Italian tradition; attended Tooele schools where he excelled in sports. He married Carleen Chadwick Perfili, the love of his life. Together they had seven children: Jim, Jeri, Jackie, Jeannie, Joe, John (Hope), and Mary Jo (deceased) (Scott). From there it grew to grandchildren: James Cade Perfili, Cody Carrico (Ashley), Jennifer Carrico Gurney (Tyler), Jessica Kilgore (Apryl), William Kilgore (Lisa), Amber Perfili, Mandy Perfili, and James Bloom (Irena). Lastly his pride and joy his great grandchildren: Arianna Kilgore, Kai Gurney, Luke Gurney, Andrew Kerwin, and Addy Carrico. Preceding him in death is Carleen Perfili, Mary Jo Perfili Diston, his parents, all sisters and most brothers, with the exception of Alfred (Fred) Perfili (Rose). Fred and Rose have always been close to dad calling him every night and visiting him up to the end. Dad was especially close to his niece Jo Ann Hill (Terry).
Dad worked as a food broker in grocery stores up until he was eighty. However, his favorite job he enjoyed well into his eighties, was lighting for Utah Theatrical Productions and Local 99. It was with that job he enjoyed many Broadway shows, operas, symphonies, music groups, sporting events, and it is there where he created many lifelong friendships. One of his favorite venues to do the lighting was the Capitol Theater which always held a special place in his heart. Dad loved his home and yard, where he worked endless hours making it look perfect. Dad loved golfing with everyone, especially Tubber and going to his home after for breakfast. He was a kind gentle man who would go to anyone's rescue at any time or just lend a listening ear for comfort. He called his kids every single day checking on them making sure they didn't need anything. We put this man on the highest of all pedestals as a human being. The family is completely heartbroken over the loss of our dad but, we are forever thankful for having such a loving incredible man in our lives for so long. We truly feel blessed.
He was blessed to have a very large, loving family and we thank you all. Thank you to all his dear friends over the years, dad cherished your friendships. Thank you to all his coffee buddies, he was always looking forward to the stories and laughs. Thank you to all his friends with whom he worked over the years who were like family. Dad truly felt blessed with all of his friends. We would like to mention each and every one of you but it's hard; please know he loved you and he is forever grateful for your friendships. The family thanks everyone from the bottom of our hearts. Special thanks to Jeanette, Kay and Claudia with Aspen Ridge Hospice for going above and beyond with their care of dad. A special thank you to Jessica, Apryl, and Amie for taking Dad into their home and giving him such love and care at the end of his life.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Olaf's Church in Bountiful Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00 am 276 E 1700 S Bountiful, Utah. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East Salt Lake City, UT. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building. Dad will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
