George R. Coombs
Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed into heaven on December 6, 2017.
He was born on March 18, 1937 in Salt Lake City to June "Jack" and Janie Coombs.  He married Genevieve Martinez on February 11, 1957 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine.  George was vibrant and full of life.  He was very generous and giving.  George loved tending his yard and kept it immaculate. His adored canine best friend Festus was always at his side.  He enjoyed cowboy movies, fishing, and trips to Wendover.  He was loved by all who knew him and he will be dearly missed.
He is joyfully met in heaven by his wife of 53 years Genevieve, son Tony, daughter Paula and granddaughter Natalie Quinn.
George is survived by his daughters Christine Achter and Elizabeth Quinn and grandson Jeremy Wallgren who he raised like his own son, and numerous other extended family members.
Friends are invited to greet the family and celebrate his life on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.  George will be laid to rest with his son at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
