Augurio Tolentino left this earth January 20, 2018 at 3 am surrounded by close family.

He grew up in Bana farm in Santa Monica, Santa Rita, Pampanga, Philippines. The youngest of 6 siblings, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Francisco, Lydia, and Castor as well as his parents, Simplicio and Maria.

Augurio was a well educated man who spent his college days as a Seminarian majoring in theology and philosophy.  He taught Math, English, Spanish, and Latin. As fate would have it, life had another path for him.

He married the love of his life for 49 years in 1968. Together, they started a family. In 1983, he took a chance picking up everything, moving with his wife and four children to Salt Lake City, Utah to start a better life.

The littlest things are what we'll miss the most. He was fond of completing his crossword puzzles while sipping cups of coffee. It was not uncommon to find a grandchild sitting by him, watching and waiting as he peeled their fruits, seafood, or watermelon seeds.

He is survived by his wife Marina and brother and sister Felicisima and Martin. He was father to four children, Remedios (Allan), Alvin (Melodie), Olegorio, and Rufo. His loving grandchildren are Katherine (Kevin), Madelyn, Marlee, Mia, Alvin Jr, Nicolas, and Erika. He had one great granddaughter, Kaci.

We would like to thank his medical staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute led by Dr. Wallace Akerley. Special thanks to his long time primary care physician Dr. Susan Pohl.
