Heaven gained an amazing soul on Friday April 20, 2018. Gregory Steven Meyer, our son, brother, uncle and father was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. He endured many trials in his short life but did it with great strength and courage. He passed his earthly test and endured to the end.
Gregory was born on May 28, 1982 to Gordon and Vickie Meyer in Salt Lake City, Utah. Greg was an amazing part of our family; full of life, kind, loving and a giving person. The hole that has been left in our hearts from his passing will never be mended.
Greg was involved in a car accident 20 years ago that left him with a traumatic brain injury. Due to his accident, he was faced with many trials and overcame most all of them. This did not stop him from pursuing his love of sports. He became involved with the Special Olympics, where he played softball and basketball with amazing young athletes that welcomed him in and accepted him immediately.
Greg was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had a deep love and testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and the gospel. In 2001, he was called to serve in the California Ventura Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His brain injury was not going to set him back from serving the Lord. He loved the people he met and served there.
After serving his mission, Greg met and married Maria Jeldes. Through this union, he was blessed with his two beautiful daughters. They were later divorced.
Greg was a such a fun, loving, outgoing and adventurous young man, and always loved to tease his family. He loved his mint chocolate chip ice cream and cookies or whatever sweets he could find, and he loved going to buffets with his dad. He always had a smile on his face and loved being a daddy to his sweet little girls. He loved to spend time with them whenever he could. They meant the world to him.
Greg is survived by his parents Gordon and Vickie Meyer, brother, Chris (Tawny) Meyer; sisters Julie (Scott) Campbell, Angie Meyer, and Kim (Caleb) Pryor, his two beautiful daughters, Emma and Rebeca, twelve nieces and nephews and his Grandma Donna. He is preceded in death by his Grandma Bev and Grandpa George Webb, his Aunt Lisa and his Grandpa Gordon Meyer Sr.
