It is with great sadness that we share with you, that Vicky Sue Wankier Aldridge Nelson (V-Swan) passed away May 28, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 13, 1943, in Levan, Utah and is preceded in death by parents Farrell T. Wankier and Thela Buchanan, as well as brother Farrell T. Wankier Jr.

She joins her daughter Angela Aldridge and granddaughter Monica Herrick in everlasting life. Loving survivors include: Her husband Joe, daughter Michelle (Al) Golding, stepchildren Jay (Deb) Nelson, Monica Jacobwith, Charlotte (Ed) Twyford, and loving grandchildren, Katie, Cameron, and Zoey.

She is also survived by sister Noreen Foote, sister-in-law Deanna Wankier, and many beloved nieces and nephews here in Salt Lake City.

Vicky was courage personified and a tremendous racial pioneer in addition to being very positive in the face of a life of repeated tragedy. She was intelligent and determined, and all the women in her life looked up to her. She was a force of nature, a red-haired dynamo who loved her family and friends, her books, and life. She was flamboyant and strong and beautiful. Her smile could light up a room, and her laugh was contagious. We are grateful to have had her in our lives and so sorry she had to leave so soon.

A service for Vicky's will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm with a celebration to follow at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 1710 Foothill Drive, Salt Lake City.
