Bonnie Jean (LaLone) Lochhead

September 3, 1929 - February 22, 2019

Bonnie Jean (LaLone) Lochhead of Sandy, Utah passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Mark’s Hospital following a stroke and complications from pneumonia. 

Bonnie was born in Belden, NE on September 3, 1929 to Irma Alvena Griesel and Robert May and was later adopted by Claude Napoleon LaLone of Wapato, WA.  She married the love of her life, John McDonald “Jack” Lochhead, on February 5, 1949 in Salt Lake City.  Together, they raised and were survived by 7 children:  Catherine Anne Rogers (Terry) of Sandy, UT, Mary Patrice Eliason (Dean) of Sandy, UT, Michelle Jean Lochhead of West Valley City, UT, Dianne Bodell (Chuck) of Herriman UT, Jacquelyn Angle (Pat) of Gurnsey, WY, John McDonald Lochhead, Jr. of Sandy, UT, and Michael James Lochhead (Christina) of Southborough, MA.  Their 8th child, Heather, died during childbirth. 

She was survived by 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.  Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Irma LaLone, her husband, Jack Lochhead, her daughter, Heather Lochhead, and her granddaughter, Sadie Angle. 

Bonnie enjoyed playing golf and cards with her friends and spending time with her family.  Bonnie was committed to her Catholic faith, was a devoted mother, wife, and friend, and will be truly missed by all who knew her. 

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor located at 3651 South, 900 East in Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.  A funeral mass for Bonnie will be celebrated on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church located at 1375 East Spring Lane in Salt Lake City, followed by a Christian burial service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery located at 4th Ave and 'T' Street in Salt Lake City.
