Linda Marie Nesi

August 17, 1948 - July 23, 2019

Our beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Linda Marie Nesi, passed away doing what she loved - traveling the world - on July 23rd, 2019 at the age of 70 with her husband Joseph Nesi by her side.
She was born August 17, 1948 in Santa Monica California to Del M. and Mary V. Carbiener. Although she was a California girl at heart, she moved to Salt Lake City in 1968 with her family where she married her first husband Dennis Witbeck and had 3 wonderful sons. Several years later she pursued a degree in the field of education where she received her teaching degree from the University of Utah; she became a member of the Golden Key Society and graduated Cum Laude. Linda’s zest for life took her on many adventures, one of which was meeting and marrying the love of her life - her “ renaissance man” -Joseph Nesi in 1990. With the support and encouragement of Joseph, she later continued on to receive her Masters degree from Utah State University. Throughout her 24 year teaching career she not only influenced many children for good, she was recognized and honored with several teaching awards including the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Linda was an active member in the St. Olaf Catholic Parish where she served in many capacities including on the Parish Council and in the Ladies of Charity. She was an avid reader, die-hard democrat, sports fanatic, and this Italian mama could really cook it up in the kitchen. Linda and Joe's love for their families and each other created a beautiful life.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and step daughter Sarah Nesi. She is survived by her husband Joseph Nesi, their children and their spouses - Neal (Melanie), Matthew (Karina), Alan (Julie,) Anne (Michael), Rebecca, Jessica (Leonard), Mary and Joseph; 8 grandchildren - Amanda (Dave), Grace, Alina, Summer, Jillian, Trinity, Timothy, Emily; 2 Great Grandchildren - Evelyn and Jaina; and her brother Greg and his family.
