Rodney Layne Cheshire Sr., 69, passed away at his residence in Sandy, Utah on December 2, 2019 after a long illness. Rodney was born to Calvin Lewis Cheshire and Lois Nielson (Cheshire) Scoville on July 26, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Kathy Daugherty (later divorced), and Mari Esther Robison on May 24, 1976 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Rod worked at Wells Fargo Armored Service later to become Loomis Armored Service for 40 years. He also started his own company, Security Associates, Inc. in 1983.
He is survived by his children Wendy Maylett, Chelsea Doyle, Rodney Cheshire Jr., Bryan Cheshire, sister, Lori Aldous, sister-in-law Julia Tuft and Derrick, grandchildren; Matthew (Jenna), Adriana, Skylie and Dallan Doyle; Chase and Chance Mickelson Cheshire, with a great grandson on the way. Good friends Scott Smith, Robert Virgin, and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mari, mother, Lois Scoville, stepfather Jesse Keith Scoville, and father Calvin Cheshire, in-laws Esther Waters and Don Robison, brother-in-law Lynis Aldous and sister-in-law Connie Robison.
The family would like to thank IHC Hospice, Dr. Ryan Kidderman, Teresa, his wonderful home nurse, Dr. Matthew Kirkpatrick, Dr. Evan Daugherty and Jay, his incredible nurse on the 6th floor at the Intermountain Medical Center for their special care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:30 am at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where friends and family may call one hour prior to services. Rod will be laid to rest at the Sandy City Cemetery, 700 East 9000 South, Sandy, Utah following the funeral services.
All who had the privilege of knowing him will dearly miss him.
