Erma Thompson (Marmar)

October 8, 1946 - January 30, 2020

Erma sadly passed away surrounded by her family on 1/30/2020.  She was born to Wayne & Betty Godfrey on 10/8/1946.  Graduated from Granite High School.  Married Bill Thompson (her Herbie) on 8/8/1972.

If you were lucky enough to meet Erma, you became her friend for life.  She was always there for you, always ready to go to lunch or dinner or just talk.  Erma had many nick names throughout her life-Erm the Worm, Popcorn Queen, Squirrel Chaser, Pita but most called her Auntie Erm or Marmar.

She loved her brothers, was extremely proud of them and enjoyed working with them for many years at Godfrey Trucking until her retirement.

Hats off to the staff of the University of Utah and Shelley and Brad at St. Mark’s for their excellent care.

Survived by husband Bill, brother Earl (Louise) Godfrey, sons Jeff (Pam) Thompson, Todd (Cindy) Thompson, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her special family in Arizona.

Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dick, Kenny Godfrey and great grandson Thor Thompson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7 from 2-4 at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S 900 E, SLC.  In memory of Erma, please wear purple.
