Karen Elaine Sharp

October 19, 1967 - February 21, 2020

Karen Elaine Sharp, age 52, died at home on February 21st from chronic health problems. We are comforted knowing she has found peace.

She was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from East High School in 1985, Karen studied Psychology and Nursing at the University of Utah. She practiced as a Registered Nurse at Primary Children’s Medical Center in the Medical/Surgical unit and in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Karen later spent time in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she volunteered at the Women for Women and the Trampled Rose Shelter. She often volunteered at the Fourth Street Clinic in Salt Lake City. Her passions were nursing and helping those in need. She loved her family, her friends, her dogs, and the Utah outdoors.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, Hal Turner and Elaine Johnson Sharp, and a nephew. She is survived by her siblings, Ann Tyler (Steven), Liz Boulay (Steven), Nate Sharp (Kim), David Sharp (Jeanie), Camille Camacho (Hallard Weber), and Hugh Sharp (Anika Cook), and 19 nephews and nieces.

Friends are invited to celebrate Karen’s life, on Monday, March 9th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm to mingle and remember Karen.  This will be followed by a tribute to Karen from 7:30 to 8:30, at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, SLC, UT 84106. Karen wished to be cremated.
