Rulon Scott Carlisle (Stormy)

February 26, 1951 - July 26, 2020

Stormy was born February 26, 1951 to Rulon Dale (Nick) Carlisle and Alta Sofia Wall in Salt Lake City, Utah. He took his last breath and rode off into the sunset on July 26, 2020. From the very start, Stormy lived life on his own terms. He loved Harley’s, Natural Light Beer and smokes.  His talents were diverse. He could rebuild a Harley from the ground up and then turn around and make the best deviled eggs that you would ever taste. One thing that was never in question, was how Stormy felt about any person or issue. He did not hesitate to say EXACTLY what was on his mind.

On June 23, 1983, he married the love of his life Trula Jane Brubaker. Together they had two beautiful boys, Colby and Nick, that became the center of his universe. Stormy was so proud of his boys and loved them more than anything in the world. On July 3, 1988 his life changed forever when his beloved Trula died. His life was never the same. He did his very best to raise his boys but he would forever feel the loss of their mother. Light came into his life again when his beautiful granddaughter, Trula Joy, was born and was soon followed with a handsome grandson, Cassius Scott. They were a never ending source of joy to him.

Those left behind to mourn his passing are father, his sons, Colby (Nicole), and Nick; his daughter Stacey; his siblings Terry (Erma) and Robyn; his in-laws Mary (Doug) Jensen and Mike (Marca) Brubaker. And his beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Trula, his mother, his stepmother, Dianne, his father and mother-in-law Ed and Jane Brubaker, and sister-in-law Monica Stafflund.

A gathering for Stormy will be on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
