Thommy 'Oribs' Ramirez

September 22, 1961 - October 4, 2020

In the night of Sunday, October 4th, 2020, the world lost a very generous and talented man to Cancer. A green burial will be held at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery on Thursday, October 8th at 11:00am.

Thommy 'Oribs' Ramirez, age 59, was born on September 22, 1961 to Constancia Bicera and Patrocinio Ramirez in Lasam Cagayan, Philippines. He attended high school and eventually obtained a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Philippine Airforce College of Aeronautics University.

His favorite past-time included traveling with his family, roadtripping with his travel buddy Eleanor, watching and playing basketball, getting together for boxing fights, eating at buffets, and cooking food for those he loved. He was a lifelong learner and a voracious reader. If asked about Quantum Physics,  Software Programming, career dilemmas  or anything under the sun, he surely has something to say about it. To some, he was their life advisor, confidante and simply someone they can talk to. He was a very generous educator and advisor to everyone who needed him. But his children would mostly remember him for his passionate disquisition on honesty, integrity and generosity.

He was a beloved 'kabsat;' he treated his fellow Ilokanos and Filipinos with great care as if they were his own family.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor, children Karen (John Ray), Kevin (Jona), Kim, and Karl, and grandchildren Kaiffer, Olivia, Kirk, and Andrea.

Due to Salt Lake County gathering mandates, we have sent our invitations to the maximum number of people for the viewing. The funeral on Thursday will be livestreamed by Starks and the recording of the burial will be available on their website.
