Our ray of light and true north, Jason A. Scott left us on February 17, 2021 from an unknown cause. Jason was born January 19, 1987 to Richard L. Scott and Diane Pannunzio Scott.

It’s important to acknowledge the breath of his Essence. Jason was always on a path of adventure. From skiing his beloved Snowbird Ski Resort to flying high in the clouds or charging the mountain biking trails. He loved the rush of adrenaline and the wind in his hair. Rest easy Jason, we will keep Thump’r sailing the waters of Bear Lake.

Jason graduated from University of Utah and the ROTC program. He joined the 19th Special Forces Group (Abn) unit and rose to the rank of Captain. During his enlistment, Jason was awarded the Non-Article 5 NATO medal for service with NATO in relation to the Resoulute Support Mission in Afghanistan from September 15 ~ February 16, among other awards. He also achieved Senior Parachutist and was ahighly skilled Jump Master. As a civilian, TD Williamson currently employed Jason, where he took pride in his work and enjoyed the comradery of his co-workers.

Jason is survived by his parents LTC Richard L. Scott (RET) and Diane Scott plus his loving sisters, Shandra Scott, and Lacey Scott Mitchell, and nephew, Caden Mitchell as well as many other extended family members.

A celebration of Jason’s life will be on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 6:00 pm  to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Please call the funeral parlor at 801-474-9119 between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to make a reservation in order to abide by social distancing guidelines. Masks are required.

A graveside service in his honor will be on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale.
