Rita Ann Maloney Nannini

July 4, 1933 - April 8, 2021
Rita Ann Maloney Nannini

Rita’s pain and suffering ended on April 8, 2021 as she went to Heaven in the arms of the angels.  We are certain she was welcome wholeheartedly by many dear family and friends who preceded her in death.

Rita was born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois on July 4, 1933 to Bridget (Considine) and Thomas Maloney.  One of six children, she had a joyful childhood and was always proud to be Daddy’s girl.

On September 3, 1955, she married Michael Joseph Nannini and officially became a north-sider.

Rita and Mike were blessed with five children: Joanmarie (Russell) Wong, Robert (Jolene) Nannini, Janet McFall, James Nannini, and Thomas (Jamie) Nannini; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Her family was her life and she left us with a legacy of unconditional love and the importance of family ties.

A private mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Salt Lake City, and she will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, Salt Lake City.

A heartfelt thanks to Holly in Illinois, Patricia in Tennesse, and all those at Pheasant Run Alzheimer's Special Care Center and Bristol Hospice in Utah who cared for Rita with love, kindness, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.  Also, enjoy an ice cream sundae with family or friends in her memory (chocolate, of course!)
