Gloria Morandi Demas
Gloria Morandi Demas, age 92, passed away May 28, 2021 at home in Bountiful, Utah. She was the oldest of three children born on May 23, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl and Carmella Morandi. She married Kenneth Demas on August 25, 1950; they later divorced. Together they had two children Michael (Susan) Demas and Christine Demas Young.
Gloria retired from the Third District Court in 1995 after 25 years. Recognizing Gloria’s work ethic and knowledge of the District Court, she was soon asked to return to work in the information booth until her health began to decline at age 82. She was most disappointed when neuropathy robbed her of the ability to play golf on a women’s golf league with her friends. She also was an avid bridge player and a member of many bridge clubs throughout her lifetime.
Gloria was known for her selflessness, her fun personality and her traditional Italian cooking, especially around the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Carol Gerrard. She is survived by her brother Carl Morandi, her children, three grandchildren and spouses, one great-grandchild and many extended family members and friends. We want to thank Envision Home Health & Hospice for the loving care and attention given during her final days.
A Vigil will be on Friday, June 18, 2021 with the Rosary at 5:15 and visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Graveside services will be on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue & T Street, Salt Lake City.
