R. Scott Annis

January 13, 1953 - August 22, 2021

Scott passed away in his sleep on august 22, 2021,. He was born on January 13, 1953 to Don Annis and Annis H. Annis. He was married to Lydia Garcia and they had two children, a daughter Jamie L. Annis and a son Eli S. Annis, later divorced. He met Rachel Cintron at their place of employment, they married on June 2nd and have spent 37 years together. Together they had a daughter Amanda Holliday.

Anyone that knew Scott knew he was a man of few words. But, when he had something to say, you knew. He was always ready to hear a good joke or eat some great food!

He spent his early years in his home in Taylorsville and grew up working hard. He was a respected worker for West Jordan City for most of his adult life until he retired in 2011 after 33 years.

Scott loved picking up the grandkids from school everyday after retirement. He loved talking to his grandson Ryan, he would say that Ryan was very knowledgeable and could hold a conversation with him. He loved the outdoors and fishing and “supervising” while everyone gathered around and had fun. To say this man was a presence is an understatement.

The hole that is left in his absence is one that will take a while if ever to fill. Scott enjoyed talking to and spending time with his sons-in-law Rob Littlefield and Jon Holliday.

He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife Rachel, his daughters Jamie Annis (Rob Littlefield) and Amanda Holliday (Jon Holliday), his son Eli Annis and his grandsons Ryan Annis, Keenan and Sylas. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Shayla Annis, his parents, two siblings, his mother-in-law and others.

Friends and family may gather to celebrate Scott's life on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.
