Carol Ada Pendleton

July 4, 1944 - August 27, 2021

Our hearts are heavy to announce our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend has passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021.

On July 4, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Leland and Mary Druce brought Carol Ada Druce into this world. She was the light of their lives and she always referred to herself as the family caboose.

On May 1, 1965 she married William Rhead Pendleton Jr. in a civil ceremony in Salt Lake City, Utah. The family grew to three on October 17, 1966 with the birth of their first child Tracy Rhead Pendleton. On July 24, 1968, their family increased with the birth of their daughter, Lori Lee Pendleton. It grew to five with the birth of their daughter Julie Ann Pendleton on November 21, 1972.

She has five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister Pat Overby and brother Floyd Druce, and many loving nephews, nieces and extended family members.

Carol always brought light and happiness into a home and always put everyone’s needs ahead of her own.

Carol’s home making skills were only exceeded by her boundless love for her family. And her spaghetti sauce……Ohhhh Baby!

She is preceded in death by her parents Lee and Mary Druce, her older sister Shirley Dolle, and her daughter Julie Ann Pendleton.

With the loss of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister; our light is not as bright as it was.

Carol Ada Pendleton will be remembered as a sweetheart.

If life was measured in patience, self sacrifice, and thoughtfulness of others instead for years, fortune or fame then we’ve lost the longest living wealthiest and most well known person anyone of us was lucky enough to have known.

She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. A service will be on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour prior to the service at Starks Funeral Parlor.
