William Edward Schultz

October 10, 1935 - August 11, 2021

William Edward (Ed) Schultz aka Dad, Grandpa, Papa, Big Ed, Jolly Green Giant.

Ed, 85 years old of Murray, Utah  passed August 11, 2021 due to heart disease.

Born October 10, 1935 in Olympia, Washington to William (Bill) Frank Schultz and Ruby Ione Tornow Schultz.

He later moved with his family to Salt Lake City, Utah where he graduated from South High School in 1954 and where he also met and married Sandra Jolene (Jo) Albean. They were married on June 28, 1955 in Salt Lake City. Ed joined the Air Force in January 1955 and was honorably discharged.

Ed was an incredible hard-working man and had the gift of gab. He loved and worked most of his life in the body and paint field and later opened BE. J’s Body and Paint shop. Much later in life he enjoyed chauffeuring folks between Salt Lake City and Park City, this is where his gift for gab kicked in.

He loved racing his green Willey’s Jeep (hence the nickname Jolly Green Giant), guiding for United Sportsman, hanging out at racetracks, hunting grounds and camping with his family. He was President of the Intermountain Off-Road Racing Association and the Skyline Jeep Club. He loved to dance and made sure he danced with all the ladies at the Jeep Club parties at least once. He loved watching Nascar, football and basketball, especially watching the Utah Jazz with Jo.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him!

Survived by his wife, Jo (aka Jolly Green Midget), daughters Terrie (aka Sunny) Schultz, Cindy (Ken) Meacham, Bobbi Schultz, son Michael Schultz, grandchildren Heather Healy, Jeremy (Martha) Schultz and Whitney Wright, great-grandchildren, Jourdan, McCaffrey, Malakai, Quinton, Roman, Rory and Delilah, great-great-grandchild Athena, younger brother Robert D (Sylvia) Schultz, nephew Shawn (Heidi) Schultz, niece Kristie (Michael) Sharp and his handsome dog Teddy.
