Ben Sundblom, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 15, 2021, in South Jordan, Utah.  

Ben was born in Heber City, Utah to Melba Allison and John Lawrence Sundblom on December 31st, 1937. 

Ben, the oldest of 3 children, was a country boy and often told stories of his happy childhood adventures with his horse and his dog.  He graduated from Wasatch High School in 1956.  After graduation he married his high school sweetheart Launa Simmons and had two beautiful daughters.  Ben joined the Army in 1956 and served for 5 years.  Ben and Launa later divorced, and on March 11, 1978, Ben married the love of his life, Kathryn and her two children.  A year later they were blessed with a daughter of their own.  Ben spent his career as a Master Electrician in the mining industry.  He always had a love for flying and in 1993 he received his private pilot’s license.  He spent many happy hours flying in his Cessna 250. Ben retired in 2000 back in his hometown of Heber.  

He is preceded in death by his parents Melba Allison and John Lawrence Sundblom, and his daughter Shauna Ann Sundblom.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Ann Sundlbom; his children Kim Summers (Mitchell), Laura McCullough (Justine), Wade Johnson, Lisa Peterson (Matthew); his siblings Kay Givens (Rod), and Larry Sundblom; his grandchildren Annemarie (Sean), Megan (Garrett), Taylor, and Lexi, and his great-grandchildren Hayden, Lucas, and Ryker. 

A funeral will be held on Monday, December 20th at 12:00pm at the Little Cottonwood 14th Ward House (1160 East Vine Street Murray, UT 84121).  A viewing will proceed the funeral service at 11:00am in the same location.  

Interment to follow at Heber City Cemetery 680 N 550 E, Heber City, UT 84032.
