Steven R. Rasmussen

On March 22, 2022, the world lost a kind and gentle soul. On this date Steve lost his valiant fight with a brain tumor at home surrounded by his family. Steve was born on September 9, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert Rasmussen and Judy Stevens.

Steve married the love of his life, Kristine Rasmussen on April 12, 2003, and enjoyed 20 years of fishing and traveling together.
Steve was a fish whisperer. No matter what body of water, Steve was able to land a fish. He was a catch and release fisherman and enjoyed the art and challenge of flyfishing. His favorite fishing spot was the Snake River but he loved deep sea fishing in Alaska, Mexico, California, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Anytime Steve traveled he took time to fish.

Steve had a tremendous heart and was always focused on improving anything he touched. He spent the last part of his career as the President of Rasmussen Equipment Corporation.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Kristine Rasmussen, son Kyle Rasmussen, sister Kimberly Levine, brother Michael Rasmussen (Lisa), parents Robert Rasmussen and Judy Stevens (Roby) and nephews Blake and Casey Levine. He is also survived by his trusted canine companion Beignet.

The family would like to thank the valiant healthcare workers who supported and fought for Steve including Dr Joe Mendez, Dr Grant Hunter, Dr Peter Maughn and Dr Elisabeth Ferlic and all the team members at Huntsman at Home.

Honoring Steve’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held where friends, family and colleagues can reminisce about the great times shared and amazing fish landed. A celebration of life for colleagues and clients of Rasmussen Equipment will be held on April 20th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Rasmussen Equipment Corporation. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held on April 24th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at The Cottonwood Club where Steve made lifelong friends playing tennis.

We love Steve endlessly and will miss him forever, but we will forever hold a piece of him in our hearts.
