Bradley Richard Bostwick

December 25, 1972 - July 18, 2022

Brad Bostwick, age 49, passed away on Monday, July 18th. He arrived early and surprised his parents, Richard Bostwick and Brenda Bostwick Bergmann, on Christmas Day, 1972. Brad graduated in 1991 from Pine View High School in St. George, Ut, where he served on the Student Council as Senior Class President. He married Elka Willits on Valentine’s Day, 2006. They are the parents of three children, Jaeger (21), Gauge (19), and Malena (13).

Brad loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time with his family. He went on trips to Canada and Alaska to hunt bears and caribou. He and his family are proud to practice whole animal utilization and are very thankful for all that nature provides.

Brad loved sports and was an amazing athlete from a young age. He excelled in many sports and one of the only times people feared him was when they competed against him, whether that was on the field, court, track, or mat.

Brad’s impeccable work ethic started at a very young age when he would get up early to go to work with his dad. He began a career in construction in St. George and eventually moved to Salt Lake. This is where he was trained in cabinet installation, and he had a long, distinguished career in this line of work.

Brad was a mentor to his children, many nieces and nephews, and countless others who crossed his path. Much of his guidance came from life experience, and he often shared stories from his past to teach a lesson. He was a great listener, always remembered what you told him and would follow up the next time he saw you to see how you were doing. He was a man of his word who always kept the promises he made. He was well respected and when his family had decisions to make they often asked out loud “what would Brad do”?

He had a giant, compassionate heart. When he went on a trip without Elka, he would write a letter for every day they would be apart.  His family was his greatest joy and he devoted his time and energy to their well-being.

Brad leaves behind his wife, Elka, his children, Jaeger (Annie), Gauge, and Malena; his parents Richard Bostwick and Brenda Bostwick Bergmann; his siblings Margo (Rio) Lister, Jeremy Bostwick, Brooke (Adam) Andelin, Megan Larkin, and Anna Bostwick; along with 25 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation for the continued healing of Brad and Elka’s children @Anna-Anderson-15. All funds will be used directly for this purpose.

A celebration of Brad’s life will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106. Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the north side of the building.
