Katherine “Kathy” Claire Kocke Olivier, October 15, 1953 - September 11, 2022 passed away at the age of 68 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by her loving family.

She was born to the late Edward Kocke, Jr. and Marie Troxclair Kocke in Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from Plaquemine High School in 1971 and attended Louisiana State University. She spent her professional career at Mercer University School of Engineering in Macon, Georgia as Dean’s Assistant and Director of the Graduate Program. Kathy was a devoted and loving mother who took an active role in her children’s education, as well as all their many extracurricular activities. She loved sewing, cross stitching and sports, especially LSU football.

Kathy is preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Marie Olivier, father, Edward Kocke, Jr., maternal grandparents, Fabian and Laurence Troxclair, paternal grandparents, Edward Kocke, Sr. and Louise Kocke, Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law, Pierre and Suzanne Olivier.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Philip D. Olivier; mother, Marie Kocke; son Philip Olivier, Jr. and his wife Jessica; daughter, Geneviève Olivier and her husband Mike Green; daughter, Jeannine Rosser and her husband Cody; sisters, Louise Kocke Rich (Skip), Jane Kocke Howson (Dave), Fay Kocke DePaula and June Kocke Hebert; brothers, John Kocke (Anita), Paul Kocke (Jackie), Eric Kocke and Edward Kocke, III (Tina); grandchildren Luc Jones Olivier, Madelyn Elizabeth Rosser, Calvin John Rosser, Anna Katherine Rosser and Cécelia Paige Rosser and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family at Holy Family Catholic Church, 155 Holy Family Lane, Luling, LA 70070 on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at St Louis No. 3 Cemetery 3421 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans, LA 70119.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org), National Down Syndrome Society (www.ndss.org) or your local Pregnancy Resource Center.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers: Yasmin Araugo, Angelle DeRoche and Cathe DeRoche and Valeo Hospice for the care given to Kathy and compassion to the family.
