Kile Don Bigelow

January 16, 1956 - September 24, 2022
Dr. Kile Don Bigelow (“Papa”) age 66, passed away peacefully at his caring daughter’s home, surrounded by his loving family on September 24th 2022, after a three year battle with cancer. Don was born in Salt Lake City, UT, on January 16, 1956 to Kile and Bonnie Alice Bigelow. He attended Cottonwood High school class of 1974. Don was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a full-time mission in the Caracas, Venezuela Mission. He and his companions were the first missionaries to open the island of Trinidad and Tobago. Returning home from his time in South America, Don attended BYU and then continued further education at Virginia Commonwealth, where he obtained his Doctorate degree in Dentistry. He practiced a successful career in the Salt Lake Valley for nearly three decades before retiring during the pandemic.
 
Don married Karen Johnson in 1977, with whom they brought five children, Benjamin, Rebecca, Jessica, Zackery, and Seth into this world together. They later divorced. In 1994, Don married Lisa Connor, who had three children of her own, Austin, Chris, and Lindsey, whom all became a loving and eternal family and a very important part of Don’s life. Don and Lisa had one child together, their ray of sunshine, Sean. After Lisa’s death, in 2017 Don married Julie Frambach, this marriage ended before his death. Family was and always will be the most important thing to Don.
 
Don is preceded in death by two children, Jessica and Seth; his loving wife, Lisa Conner Bigelow; his first wife, Karen Johnson Bigelow, and his father, Kile Bigelow.
 
Don is survived by his children Benjamin (Jenny) Bigelow, Rebecca (Aaron) Adams, Zackery (Kahana) Bigelow, and Sean Bigelow; his stepchildren, Austin (Ashlyn) Olsen, Chris Olsen, Lindsey (Trevor) Ashdown; his 12 grandchildren (and counting), who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother Bonnie Bigelow; siblings Lauri (Keith) Johnson, Alison (Brian) Sorensen, Amy (Brad) Maxfield, Marci Ashton, Peter Bigelow, Erika (Tim) Jeppsen, Eve (Royce) Larsen, and Billie (Dave) Hansen; and many nieces and nephews. 
 
Don loved the outdoors, especially the days on the lake after a hard day’s work. He loved boating, hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He enjoyed sports, and a plethora of card games he would play with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. He cherished his time with his family, who love him and will miss him with all of their hearts until they meet again!
 
Friends and Family are welcome to join in a Celebration of Don’s Life on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S 900 E, SLC, UT. Guests are encouraged to use the parking on the north side of the building.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 8th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Honey Field Ward, 7250 N Porter’s Crossing Pkwy, Eagle Mountain, UT.
