John Wally Downey

John Wallace Downey Passed away on November 23, 2022.

At the age of 88. Wally was born October 15, 1934 in Wray Colorado to Frank P and Sophia Downey the youngest son of 10 children.

He Served in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller, receiving an honorable discharge on October 10, 1962.

Wally married his sweetheart Donna B Scott October 5, 1957. Wally continued his career with the F.A.A until retirement. Wally loved fishing, camping, river rafting the Snake River in Idaho and the Green River from Flaming Gorge Dam to little hole Utah with family and friends. Wally also loved flying Stunt kites and crafting with mom.

Later in life Wally and Donna spent time traveling in their motorhome across the United States. Spending their winters as Snowbirds in Lake Havasu city, Arizona. Where they made great friends and shared many fun stories. Wally was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna.

He is survived by his daughter, Theresa and partner Stan; and son Douglas (Mindy); daughter DeAnn and partner Dan; son Brian (Sharla); grandchildren, Dustin, Danielle, AJ, Branden, Caitlin, Cody; great grandchildren, Bailee, Ariah, and one great granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his brother Donald; and sisters Bernice, Jeanie and longtime friend Ila.
