Mary Ann Wadge
Our beloved mother Mary Ann Wadge passed on January 15, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born January 22, 1930 in Wheeler County, Nebraska to Joe and Mary Haun. She was the 7th of 6 sisters and one brother. She married James C. Wadge in Denver, Colorado on September 24, 1958 and they enjoyed 53 happy years together until his death in 2012.
Mary Ann grew up on a farm near the town of Spalding, Nebraska. Her heart was often there and she had many stories of farm life in rural Nebraska during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Along with raising her two sons, she worked at the US Geological Survey and Bureau of Reclamation.
Mary Ann loved listening to music, taking drives and hiking in the mountains, spending time with family and traveling.
Mary Ann is survived by her two sons, Jim and Alan, who both live in Salt Lake City.
A vigil service will be held on Saturday, March 18th at 2:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. All friends are welcome to attend. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 24th at 6:00 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Ave, Salt Lake City. She will be laid to rest in Colorado.
