C. Jeffry Paoletti

March 17, 1943 - February 17, 2023
Charles Jeffry Paoletti, adored and cherished husband, father, brother, friend, neighbor and community member, passed away on February 17, 2023. He was 79.

Jeff was born in Provo, UT to Fred and Inez Paoletti, and along with his siblings, Paul, Wynn, and Michele, moved to Salt Lake City during his early years. Jeff and Salt Lake City developed a bond that would last and exceed his lifetime. Jeff graduated from Judge Memorial High School and went on to obtain both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Utah. Along the way he developed  lifetime friendships with Jim Davis, Mike Green, John Green, Rick Smith and Jim Yerkovich.

While he met and married his beloved wife of over 50 years, Linda Paoletti, in Phoenix, AZ, they quickly relocated to Salt Lake and established a life of great impact. Jeff served in the Air Force and held various roles with legal firms and the Utah State Bar before settling into a 20+ year career in fundraising and development as the Associate General Counsel for the University of Utah. He devoted the majority of his career to establishing development programs that provided for the majority of the world-class teaching, athletic and medical facilities and programs that the University of Utah is known for, impacting thousands of lives as a result.

His greatest pleasures came from following Utah sports as a fervent fan. As a devoted father, Jeff always made time to coach Little League and CYO basketball, have a catch, and attend track meets and baseball games. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with his sons and visiting his granddaughters.

While his legacy across Salt Lake City and the University of Utah will be lasting, he may be most remembered for his devotion to and adoration of his wife, Linda. The couple was inseparable for over 50 years, from their starter apartment, when they were first married, to their apartment at a senior living facility, during the last couple of years. Rarely apart for more than a few hours, their relationship and love only strengthened as their lives went on. Fittingly, they passed within a few weeks of each other, as that was about as long as they could stand to be apart.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Michele Paoletti-Schelp, brother, Wynn Paoletti, sons, Mark and Todd Paoletti, daughter-in-law, Jenn Wilkoff and granddaughters, Ada and Hazel Paoletti. He is also survived by lifelong friends, John Green, Mike Green and Rick Smith.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February, 24, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E S Temple St, Salt Lake City. Jeffry will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Ave "T" Street, Salt Lake City, UT.
