Gloria Scoville

Gloria Scoville, a fiercely independent and self-proclaimed "Gigisaurus", roared into the afterlife on June 15, 2024, at the age of 75 leaving behind a world that will be far less colorful without her vivacious presence.

Gloria was the third of seven children born to Albert and Barbara Guevara, ensuring her childhood was a chaotic mix of shared small spaces, sibling rivalry, and lifelong friendships.

Before her prime, Gloria was married to Bob Scoville, a union that resulted in a spectacularly un-amicable divorce and one son, Joshua Scoville. Joshua, along with his wife Nikki, gave Gloria two grandchildren: Persephone Scoville and Prometheus Rock Scoville. Gloria wore her "Gigisaurus" shirt with pride, always ready to spoil her grandkids with Mickey Mouse lollipops and the occasional piece of dubious advice.

Gloria also loved time with her friends and family; whether playing bonco, embarking on spontaneous trips to Wendover, or traveling the world, Gloria embraced life with a zest that was contagious to everyone around her.

An artist at heart, Gloria found peace and joy in painting and pottery. Her home was a gallery of her life's work, each piece a moment in her life, a place visited, or a feeling experienced. Her art brought beauty into the lives of those around her, and her pieces will remain cherished tokens of her creative spirit.

Gloria is survived by her son, Joshua (Nikki) Scoville, 2 grandchildren, Persephone and Prometheus Rock Scoville; siblings, Richard (Claudeen) Guevara, Barbara Ann (Rick) Sanchez, Keith (Ginnie) Guevara, sister-in-law Barbara Guevara, Don (Jolie) Guevara, and Ron (Lynn) Guevara; more nieces, nephews, great and greater nieces and nephews than can be counted on 2 hands and 2 feet , whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Fred Guevara.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests raising a glass, or a can, of Stella Rosa in Gloria's honor and sharing a story of your adventures with her. Gloria wouldn't want us to mourn too long; she'd prefer us to celebrate her life with the same joy and laughter that she brought to ours.
