Daryl D Mitchell “Mitch”, our devoted Husband, Father, Papa, Great Grandpa, Uncle and Friend passed away August 22, 2016 after a valiant battle with colon cancer.

He was born June 7, 1931 to Florence Mitchell and John Anthony Mitchell and was the youngest of three girls and five boys.

Daryl grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High.  He served his country in Korea from 1951 – 1953 during the Korean Conflict and was Honorably discharged.  Daryl was a keen businessman and extraordinary salesman.  He conducted his business affairs with integrity, honesty and fairness.  At a young age he was in the jukebox business traveling on Route 66 and throughout many western states.  He owned and operated the Market Lounge and the Cotton Club in the 50’s and 60’s.  He later got into the light construction business owning and operating Contractors Builders Supply & Contractors Builders Mortgage for over 40 years.

Daryl was an exceptional scratch golfer and thoroughly enjoyed the game along with fishing and boating.  For many years he loved spending time with his family on their boat in Flaming Gorge.

He had a 40-year love affair with his beautiful wife and together they traveled the world extensively; riding elephants in Thailand, climbing the Great Wall in China, traveling to every city in South America, Tahiti and all through Europe including Italy, Greece and Switzerland.

Daryl was a loving husband and amazing father and grandfather.  He was a kind and generous man with a wonderful sense of humor and we will all miss him and keep him in our hearts forever.  He was a man’s man, a class act and a loyal, selfless friend to the end.

Daryl is survived by his loving, caring wife, Shirley; son Christopher Crawford (Sandy); daughters Shauna Segundo (Leroy), Yvonne Sauer (Allen D), and Nancy Glover (Shad); along with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
