On the morning of December 18th, Dave O'Bagy suffered a sudden heart attack while hunting for the perfect elk with lifelong friends.

Dave was always larger than life, and not just in physical stature. In his own unique way, Dave touched the lives of anyone who met him with his uncanny ability to make everyone smile. His heart and his home welcomed anyone who crossed his path, and an invitation to dinner was one of his trademarks. If we are judged by how we affect others, Dave was a king amongst men - or as he was affectionately known - the king of the universe.

Dave played football at West High School and the University of Utah. His teammates remember him for his passion on and off the field, and this passion for life, love, and friends continued throughout his life. He worked multiple jobs to put himself through school, and often talked about his nights on the docks loading and unloading freight before running straight to class and practice. After graduating from the University of Utah, he began a successful career as a real estate broker. And most importantly, his work allowed him to golf every Monday and take off every hunting season. Few people can take three months of the year to do what they love most, but Dave always made sure to take the time to enjoy life and spend it with friends and family.

Dave is survived by his wife Mickey; two daughters Bailey and Brandy; his mother Barbara; brothers Paul (Carol) and Peter; and sisters Carolyn (John), Laura, Mary (Luc), and Janalee. He is preceded in death by his father Paul and brother Scott.

It was impossible to know him and not love him. Everyone who met him has their favorite Dave story, and it is through these stories that he will live on and forever be with us.

Please come share your favorite story with friends and family on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Rice Eccles Stadium, Gate C, Level 6 from 1:00 - 3:00pm.
