Agapito Moreno Ornelas, 87, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on January 9th, 2017 after several medical complications. Agapito, better known as Aggie, was born in Bingham, Utah on October 30th, 1929 to Lucy and Agapito Ornelas.

Aggie married Betty Sisneros on March 3, 1962. They were married for 54 years. Aggie is survived by his two children, Rejina Ornelas and Aaron Ornelas; Grandchildren, Ty, Cody, Levi, Twinkel and four great grandchildren, along with several neices, nephews and friends.

Aggie is preceeded in death by his parents, Agapito and Lucy, as well as his brothers; Silver, Johnny, Alex, Felix, Pioche and sister Jenny, and his son, Brother Anthony Ornelas.

Aggie was the most loving, caring, charismatic and witty person, with a gentle, sweet demeanor. He worked for over 35 years at Kennecott Copper mine and after retierment, pursued another career at the Shilo Inn. He loved his family beyond words. He always had  an open door and an open fridge for andyone who needed it. Aggie was and is an honorable man that set the kind of example of what a husband, Father, brother, uncle and friend should be. He will be truly missed by all of us left behind, but will be a light of radiance to those he will join in heaven.

The family would like to thank the staff at Paramount Nursing facility, as well as Summit Hospice for their care and committment to Aggie. 

A viewing and Rosary will be held Monday, January 16th, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 17th, 2017 and noon at Saint Ann's, with a viewing an hour prior. Lunch will be served following the Mass with the Committal rite to follow at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.
