"Denny"

Dennis L. McMullin, age 75, passed away on January 26, 2017, at St. Marks Hospital.  He was the husband of Dayle Willoughby McMullin; they shared 48 wonderful years together.  He was born to Clifford L. and Inez (Johnson) McMullin on November 18, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Denny graduated from Granite High School and received an Associate Degree from the University of Utah in Computer Programing.  He worked for Kennecott Copper for 17 years in the computer department.  He retired from Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield after 15 years in the IT Department.

He was a proud, long time member of The Crimson Club at the University of Utah, and had season tickets to all of their football games.  He and Dayle attended many away games.  He also enjoyed watching the JAZZ play on TV.  After his retirement, Denny and Dayle enjoyed traveling together, especially the many cruises they took.

He will be remembered for his love for his family, his sense of humor, which left people chuckling out loud, and his secret family sauerkraut recipe which he enjoyed making with family every few years.

Denny is survived by his wife, Dayle, son Dan (Terri Gardner) and grandson Conner McMullin, also his sisters Janeen Holter, Carolyn Workman and Linda (Kurt) Wilson. His brother-in-law Carl (Becky Bay) Willoughby, sister-in-law Robyn Roberts, many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, and pets Zak and Annie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Inez McMullin, in-laws Jack and Marian Warr and his brother-in-law Phil L. Warr.

A celebration of his life will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, SLC, on Wednesday, February 1 from 6 to 8 PM, where you are encouraged to use the free valet parking provided on the north side of the building. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 2 at 12 PM with a viewing one hour prior to services, also at Starks Funeral Parlor. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy.

The family wishes to thank the amazing nurses and doctors at St. Marks Hospital for their loving and devoted care.
