We were all given a gift that was taken away from us too soon.

Margo Silvester died the morning of March 15th, 2017 in the arms of Fred, Dusty, and Jen surrounded in love. She was felled much too early by a rare and cruel cancer, Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST). She spent the last moments of her life as she had lived it, making sure that the people close to her knew how much she loved them. While our hearts are left wanting more of that amazing, loving, curious, beautiful, extraordinary woman, we are relieved that there is no more pain for her.

A gathering for Margo will take place at the Natural History Museum of Utah in the Swaner Forum on the 5th  floor on Saturday, April 1st, 2017 from 5-7pm. We welcome all to gather and bask in the love we all shared for Margo, brag on her accomplishments, and tell the stories that connected us all to this unique and wonderful woman.

Margo was our gift so we have no need for flowers, food, etc. You can honor her with a gift, in her name, to one of the following organizations:

  • Natural History Museum of Utah: https://umarket.utah.edu/ugive/index.php
  • The Huntsman Cancer Institute: https://donate.huntsmancancer. org/msilvester
  • Oregon Health & Science Universities: cancer.ohsufoundation.org Please select Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) research under Areas of Cancer Research and Care.
  • Utah Museum of Contemporary Arts: http://www.utahmoca.org/ product/donate/

Fred, Dusty, Jen and family send love to everyone. Thank you for the incredible support you have shown us throughout this journey. We will never fully ll the hole in our hearts, but we do have our lists.
