Our father, brother, grandfather, uncle & friend passed away after a long battle with cancer.  A man of few words with incredible talents, Steve was an amazing chef. He spent the vast majority of his culinary career at Totems where he cultivated many cherished friendships.

His cooking skills were cultivated in the family business, Porky's Cafe, where most of his siblings participated with Mom and Dad. Steve also owned the "Restaurant Upstairs" on Foothill Boulevard in Salt Lake City. He was a chef at the Red Feather and a Sous chef at the Luxor on the Las Vegas strip.

Steve is remembered for his love of NASCAR, the Denver Broncos and his incredible talent as a Culinary Chef especially those watermelon ribs and no one made a better steak than Steve...

Steve was raised in big family with three sisters, one brother and his best friend John in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents Buzz and Beth. They will be there to welcome him with open arms.

Judy remembers how special Steve always made the Easter egg hunt as a child, he would be in charge of hiding the Easter eggs and always made sure a few eggs had a golden nugget attached, be it a nickel, a dime or a fifty cent piece.

Steve loved Bear Lake; his favorite place to get away from it all and spend time with his family.

Steve had three beautiful daughters that he loved dearly. His daughters, brothers and sisters are going to miss him deeply.

Steve is also survived by his beloved cat, Romeo, that is now in the loving care of his daughter Becky.

Survived by daughters Brooke, Becky and Brittney (Mike); Brother Mike (Caryn); Sisters Susie (Gaylen) Judy (Mark) Janet (Brad), and many grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Thanks to Steve's many care providers, you are all angels on earth.

A very special thanks to Dr. Abby Crume who fought so hard for Steve ad was a great comfort to his family (she is one in a million). Also a special thanks to Dr. Nitin Chandramuli and everyone at Utah Cancer Specialists. They all gave Steve a lot of strength to fight his cancer.

A big thank you to Bryon for all he did for Steve this last year and a big thanks to Baker who was such a help to Steve in the early times of his cancer.

The last year of his life was a constant struggle, he never complained and his will to live was never in question. He was a fighter to the end.

On behalf of my Sister, Brothers and nieces (Steve's daughters) we want to thank Judy for everything she has done for Steve this last year. Making sure that Steve got to all of his many appointments, making sure that he was comfortable and did not need to worry about anything accept getting better. Thank you Sis for everything you did for him. He's looking down from heaven knowing you did everything possible for him.

A "celebration of life" will be held at Mark & Judy's on April 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM, 5307 So. Hillsden Dr. (2935 E) Holladay, UT.

Rest in peace. We love you.
