Missed but never forgotten

Bruce Austin Cook, 71, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the IHC in Murray. Bruce was surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle against T-Cell Lymphoma. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Son of Austin Alburn Cook and Kate Button Cook raised in Sandy, Utah, where he attended Jordan High. He dedicated 35 years of his life working for Sandy City.

Bruce had a passion for many things in life, number one being his wife, family, and dogs. He loved riding motorcycles, collecting guns, working on his 55 Crown Vic and was an amazing craftsman in many different areas. He loved coaching and cherished the relationships he built with the players, he was truly a grandpa to all. Bruce and his soul mate Kay loved to travel, but their biggest passion was to watch their kids and grandkids play sports no matter the distance.

He is survived by the love of his life Kay; two sons Troy (Wendy) and Chad (Chaundale); his grandkids Carlin (Marissa), Chaun (Ashley), Amanda, Skylar; great grandkids Addison, Mekenna, and Sadie; siblings Kaaron Davis, KoraLynn Drake, Joyce Peterson, Brent Cook and his sidekick Mike Drake.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, June 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where casual attire is encouraged.  Complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.  Online condolences may be offered and a tribute slideshow may be viewed at www.starksfuneral.com

The family would like to thank everyone for the love and support that was given through these difficult times. A special thanks to IHC building 5, floor 5 & 9 doctors, nurses, and support staff.
