Beloved sister to Lucy, loving "Mom" to Liz and Robert, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017.  Bette was surrounded by her family when she died.  Bette loved them all dearly.

Bette grew up in Thomaston, Michigan in the forests of the Upper Peninsula.  She fondly referred to herself as a UPer. As adults, Bette and her sister moved to the big city of Chicago.  She met her beloved husband, Stan, dancing in the city.

Bette was constantly on the move and was extremely adept at anything she put her mind to. She was a master seamstress, baker and artist.  At an early age Bette began sewing outfits for her sister and herself from pictures in magazines.  As a mom, Bette created elaborate costumes for her children. She spent her life tending to her family and generally caring for her loved ones.

Bette spent most of her life living on the northshore of Chicago.  During that time, she worked as an executive secretary at the corporate headquarters of Walgreens.  Prior to computers, Bette was quickly pegged as the best "speller" in the house.

Bette and her sister Lucy transitioned to Salt Lake City full time in 2001 to be to close to the grandkids.  Bette and Lucy joined the "Newcomers Club", specifically the RMSG group.  They made wonderful new friendships.  The RMSGers added many wonderful experiences and love to the "sisters" lives in their later years.

Bette is survived by her children, Liz (Julian) Warton, Robert (Yvonne) Knoch; grandchildren, Johnny, Robby, Alex, Maddie, and Jesse; and nieces and nephews, Greg Miecynski, Gary (Chris) Lewandowski, Bobbie Lewandowski, Kathy Regan, Jessica (Peter), Sean and Izabella.

We wish to thank all those at Brio Hospice, her wonderful doctor, Sara Wells and her nurse, Jeff.  We especially want to thank her compassionate nursing aids Sulieti and Manusiu.  We love you all.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.
