A Warrior in Heaven, An Angel on Earth.

Baby Ares [árɛːs] breathed life into his own lungs the morning of June 7, 2017. He breathed love into his adoring family. God's love, God's strength.

Ares' mother and father, Summer and Eldis, joyfully cradled their baby and introduced him to his sister and brother Rhea and Atlas, and to his grandparents, Clarks and Raspopis, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends. We knew Ares' time was limited.

One by one, nose to nose, we welcomed Ares. We kissed his face and hands and toes. We giggled at his big feet, like those of 2-year-old Atlas. His fingers gripped ours, and we wondered if his hands were as big as 4-year-old Rhea's.

Ares weighed 8 pounds and he stretched 21 inches. His tender yet mighty presence appeared strong in stature for a baby, with broad shoulders and a barrel chest. But by afternoon his condition with anencephaly would allow his return to a loving Father in Heaven.

Before his passing, Ares' mother Summer caressed him and bathed him gently in her tears. His father Eldis gave him a priesthood blessing, proclaiming the gift of patience upon Ares Clark Raspopi, until we reunite again together.

Patience. What we all want now. We feel peace, but we can hardly contain our eagerness to hold Ares' again.

A very attentive medical staff stood with us. Our family is grateful for their good service. Ares' strong body was carried full term and he was able to donate organs. His short life on earth will contribute to many.

Ares' family is grateful for every minute with him. We are also grateful for the love and prayers and support of so many extended family and friends who continue to celebrate his eternal life with us. You add to our joy. Forever.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17th at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church, 15399 Heritage Crest Way, Bluffdale, where a viewing will begin one hour prior to services. Interment to follow at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave N Street, Salt Lake City.
