Charlie Arthur Spicer (Poppa) 71 died of Cancer on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Murray, Utah.
He was born August 20, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charlie H. and Caroline Kirby Spicer. He married Jean Marie Pintar on March 4, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Jean, of 50 years from Taylorsville; three daughters, Tammy M. Spicer of Murray, Tina A. Griffis, (Marty) of Bluffdale, and Amy L. Spicer-Maynes (Todd) of West
Jordan; three granddaughters, Mariah Ruth, Samantha and Kaitlyn; and one brother, Craig Spicer (Jolene) of West Valley City, Utah.
Charlie was a member of the LDS Church. He was also a proud veteran serving in the United States Army. Charlie spent his career as a Senior Project Manager in the field of Engineering, his favorite projects included the City Creek Center Skybridge, 222 Main Office Tower, and Rice Eccles Stadium. Charlie loved his family and was most proud of all his "girls", spending time with them, camping, fishing, and boating.
A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on Wednesday, July 5 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 6th at 11:00 AM at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South Millcreek, Utah.
