Antonio (Tony) Abuan Hipol was born on March 22, 1944 (73) in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. He went to be with his Lord after many years of fighting lupus and recent congestive heart failure on July 9th in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was married to the late Felicidad Hipol on May 4, 1980 in Naguilian, La Union, Philippines. They shared 36 years of marriage together and are now reunited in heaven.

He was born to Esteban and Juliana Hipol. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce with an emphasis in Banking and Finance from Arellano University. He moved to the United States shortly after graduating college in 1967. He lived in New York and worked for American Express. The company transferred him to Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife, Fely, and there they started their family.

Tony belonged to the Cathedral of the Madeleine Parish. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to church and spending time with family and friends. He loved to watch sports and The Filipino Channel. Tony also liked to make people laugh by telling jokes. When Tony was in college, he was an outstanding student athlete. He was the team captain for the Arellano University basketball team and led them to win many championships. He was also a very good dancer and won multiple dance competitions. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and kindness.

He is survived by his two children, Feli Anne and Wing (boyfriend); A.R. and Roxanne (daughter-in-law); two sisters, Milagros Pare (New York) and Erlinda Hipol (London), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fely; parents, Esteban and Juliana Hipol; his sisters, Elena Perez and Rosita Hipol and his brother, Manuel Hipol.

A Viewing and Vigil will be held on July 13, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S 900 East Salt Lake City, UT 84106. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on July 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84111 with an internment at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery to follow.
