Fernando Jimenez-Martinez

March 25, 1983  - July 28, 2017

Fernando Jimenez-Martinez (34) tragically and unexpectedly passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017. Fernando was born March 25, 1983 in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico to Fernando Jimenez Sr. and Maria G. Martinez.

He spent part of his childhood in Mexico and Los Angeles California before finding his permanent home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Fernando graduated from Taylorsville High School, completed three years of plumbing school, and went on to be employed as a plumber for K.O.H. Mechanical, Union Local 140. He was a brilliant and wise man. He enjoyed learning new things and he could master any skill in very little time.

Fernando was first and foremost a family man. He always found time to help family, friends and anyone who needed his help. Fernando loved jokes and could make anyone smile! His passions included working on cars, fishing, traveling, visiting new places, but most of all going to the beach--- Redondo Beach was his favorite.

Fernando was always positive and his happy vibe was contagious. It was impossible not to feel the same way when he was in the room. His soul touched many lives, and his presence made life better. He will forever live in our hearts.

Fernando is survived by his mother, Maria G. Martinez; father, Fernando Jimenez  Sr; brothers, Moises and Leonel Jimenez; grandmother, Antonia Garcia; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Laci R. Flinders-Jimenez; and cousin, Israel Martinez.

Viewing for close family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E., Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. 3560 S. 3650 W., Salt Lake City.
