Lauren Nuismer Aquino

Lauren Nuismer Aquino, our loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister passed away quietly in her home on October 24, 2017 following a difficult battle with cancer.

She was born in Salt Lake City on April 8, 1976, the only daughter of Ralph and Jean Nuismer. After graduating from Judge Memorial High School in 1994, Lauren attended the University of Utah. She then became a flight attendant for SkyWest airlines for three years before obtaining her private pilots license. Later she went on to complete her commercial pilot license as well.

Shortly after, she married David Aquino and was blessed with two children, Mitchell and Avery, who became the focus of her life. Following divorce, as a single mother, she successfully attended Weber State University and obtained her Associate's degree in nursing. Many patients' lives were touched by her while working as a nurse at LDS hospital on the surgical and orthopedic units. Here she found the love of her life Melissa Adams. Most recently, Lauren was employed as a nurse at the Breast Cancer Clinic at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Lauren is survived by her wife Melissa Adams, two children Mitchell and Avery Aquino, her brother Scott Nuismer (Erin), and her parents Ralph and Jean Nuismer.

In lieu of flowers it was Lauren's wish to have contributions made to the American Cancer Society. 

A celebration of Lauren's life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor on 3651 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building.
