Emily Frances Lucero

Fran was an incredibly strong and beautiful woman who was loved by many and touched more lives than we know.  She loved the mountains, especially the mountains of Montana and being able to live there was a dream come true. While living there she made many lifelong friends and had so many wonderful experiences.  One of her many passions was wolves, and her spirit was so much like one.  She loved dogs and had many companions over the years.

She loved to read and finding the internet opened up a new world where she could talk to her favorite authors and many close friends in her book clubs.

Fran loved her family fiercely, and loved watching over us all as our family grew.  She was known by many names, mom, sister, grandma, great grandma, aunt and friend.  No matter what the name the love was always there.

Her memory will live on in the wolves in the wild, the stars in the sky, and the Spirit of Christmas.

She was preceded in death by parents Henry and Myrtle Burbank; sister Shirley; and brother Gary.  Survived by her five children Kim Esquibel (Scott), Christy Grant (Mike), Natalie Berriman, Michael Anthony Lucero (Kama) and Jennifer Lucero-Cazier (Bryon); 13 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to Rocky Mountain home care and hospice. Erica, Marley, Karen, Kathy, and Brooke our mother appreciated each one of you more than you know.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation instead to one of the following; The Humane Society of Utah, The Huntsman Cancer Institute, or Save the Wolves Foundation.   

A celebration of Fran's life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building.
