On Saturday, December 16th, Sandra Freestone Aldrich passed away due to the stroke she had 3 years prior. Over the past 3 years Sandra had been in several rehab and care facilities trying to gain back the freedom and independence she so cherished. She never gave up hope that she would some day end up back home.

Sandra was born on Sept. 4, 1943 to Floyd and Hazel Lind Freestone in Heber, Utah.

Sandra grew up in Provo, UT where she met Albert M. Aldrich. They wed in 1962 and raised their two children in SLC, UT. They were later divorced.

She is survived by her children David and Jennifer (Wendy), Grandchildren: Ashleigh Johnstun (Joe), Alisha, Ashton, Aubrey, Aiden, Anden, and Alisa; Great grandson: Grant Chase Johnstun (EST birthdate: Jan. 2018), and her brother: Max (Evon) Freestone.

Sandra is preceded  in death by Albert Aldrich and four of her five siblings: Cheron Freestone Wood (Paul), SLC, Utah and Arizona, Melba Freestone Wnter (Don) of Fresno, California, Nola Freestone Fisk (Jim) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ronnie Freestone of American Fork, Utah.

Sandra loved to travel, work in her yard and cook for her family and friends. She loved playing tennis at the Cottonwood Country Club where she would not hesitate acing you with the ball if you were on the other side of the net.

We have many great memories of Sandra including annual trips to our family beach house on Amelia Island, FL. She loved to bronze herself in the sun, visit with our scattered family and walk the beach.

Sandra had a very dry sense of humor and a witty personality. She loved to play pranks too. She and her dear friend, Marly Sharp were always traveling and up to new adventures with their other friends.

Sandra had several loves in her life; however, she was not married at the time of her death.

We want to thank the staff at Sandy Health and Rehab for the love and compassion they showed to her as well as Summit Home Health & Hospice who made Sandra's last days on earth as pain free as possible.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 1:00-3:00PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E., Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the ALS Association at ALSA.org. This is an illness that has affected many friends and a family member. She would love to see a cure for this horrible disease.
