Our precious mother, grandmother, sister, Rose Mary "Caila" Drake, has decided her time with us must come to an end.  On February 25, 2018, she left to watch over us from above.  She was tiny but mighty, loving and strong.  She had the kindest, sincerest, most generous heart.  She was a true friend to many and a mother to all.  She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion.  Each of us had a special photo album, collage, cards and mementos.  She would say she loved to keep her family close.  Outside of the people in her life, she loved her collection of giraffes, the old Hollywood actors; especially Charlie Chaplin and Bette Davis, and going to Wendover.

She was born September 4, 1945 in Salt Lake City, to Rose Mary Garcia.

She is survived by her children Rebecca Huntsman (Jeff), Leandro "Jay" Garcia, and Margot Cardenas (Luis); siblings, Zulma Jimenez, Mary Ellen "Lena" Clarke (Herman), Margo Woods (Korla), Hector Garcia (Melissa); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mother, step father Francisco Jimenez, brother John "Lalo" Renteria, and her granddaughter Vanessa Huntsman.

She loved us unconditionally and we felt as though no one else mattered. However, she had a deep bond with her son Leandro. We laughed when she referred to him as "my son" as if we didn't know him.  There was also her "best friend" Ayonna, that held a special place in her heart.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU of LDS Hospital for their tireless efforts.  You made us feel warm, welcome, and comforted when our pain was overwhelming.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.  A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and "N" Street.
