Ren J. Peek

Ren James ("R.J.") Peek died July 5, 2018 of natural causes at the age of 62.  He leaves behind Jean Coburn, his life partner along with his three children Rachel (Michael) Jacques, Kiera (Brandon) Biggers, and Jordan (DeNelle) Peek.  He also leaves behind Tyler and James Coburn and seven grandchildren.  Sadly, he also leaves his precious mother, Laura Eldredge Lewis and his sister Holli (Barron) Kiuhara.  His death was preceded by his sister, Rian Peek and his father, Syd James Peek.

Ren was passionate about living and worked to squeeze all the fun and enjoyment he could out of life and he regularly dressed in bright colors as a reminder of his outgoing disposition.  He had a contagious laugh and smile and brought humor wherever he went.  He was also strong willed and did things how he wanted to do them and if you disagreed he would at least respect your right to be wrong.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, BBQing, cooking and hosting social gatherings.  All of which, were enhanced for him considerably if the activity was with family.  He was truly a family man and went out of the way to engage in and develop family relations.  He was always giving of his time and resources.

He had a fantastic zest for life which made him always enjoyably entertaining.  He was a dog person and invested regularly in his animals and other's dogs to ensure they were happy and cared for.  He was the quintessential man's man and he owned the phrase, "It is good to be the king!"  Yet he always made every person in the room feel important... of course, second only to him... the king!

If you were with Ren, you were smiling and life was fun.  Lord, we surrender Ren, try not to piss him off.  Please join us this Saturday, July 14th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, to celebrate this man that left such a wonderful mark on all of our lives. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building. Tie-dye and crazy socks preferred.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to CAWS (Community Animal Welfare Society).  Information can be found at https://www.caws.org.
