Georgette Mo Daun Petroni

Our beloved Georgette Mo Daun Petroni, 46, is at peace. She passed away on November 13, 2017, surrounded by her family in South Jordan, Utah. Cancer is to blame for taking her light from the world.

Georgette was born on August 19, 1971, in Salt Lake City, UT to Judy Tom and George Garcia. She is preceded in death by her brother, Brent. Georgette is remembered with love by her husband, Paul Petroni of South Jordan, UT; son, Cole Lockhart (from first marriage to Mark Lockhart) of Salt Lake City, UT; her mother and stepfather, Judy Tom and Allen McCoy, Sr., both of Ogden, UT; step daughter, Kaylie Mccosker (Petroni) of Cottonwood Heights, UT, and multitudes of family and friends.

Georgette graduated from Granite High School and built a successful career as a dental hygienist. She also passed training and became a certified EMT, but eventually chose to return to the dentistry field. Georgette was a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos and claimed unicorns as her spirit animals. She loved music, a bloody horror movie, camping, and above all thought the perfect day was a day spent fishing.

Georgette could turn a roomful of strangers into friends by doing nothing more than flashing her amazing smile. Her illness challenged her body and wore down her strength, but it was never able to dim that beautiful smile and enduring spirit. It is the memory of her humor and smile during happy times that will remain in our hearts and give us comfort in our sorrow. The family sends a special thank you to the incredible nurses and doctors at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City, whose skilled care make it possible for cancer warriors to fight their battles.

Join the family in a celebration of Georgette's life on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking on the north side of the building.
