Aaron Richard Schubach

January 29, 1976 - November 16, 2023

Aaron Schubach, 47, was born in SLC to Carolyn and Stephen Schubach. He attended J.E. Cosgriff Memorial Catholic School, Judge Memorial High School, graduating from USU with a degree in Business. His childhood was full of family fun at Fish Lake, playing basketball and football, and dancing in the Nutcracker. Aaron had so many

wonderful friends and had a way of making lasting relationships wherever he went.

Upon graduating from college, he started working in the family business, Standard Optical, where he went on to become the CEO and fourth generation leader. He pioneered advances in optical networking, increasing access to vision insurance, and helping make eyecare affordable for all Utahns. He worked to modernize eye care with new technologies and innovations. He was a leader in the optical industry and respected by his colleagues nationwide.

Aaron was active in the community whether lobbying at the state legislature, serving on various boards like the Haven, and spending countless hours coaching kids in CYO basketball. He was a diehard 49ers fan, loved Utah football and basketball, Gonzaga basketball, hip hop, comedy, card tricks, and live performances of all kinds (especially AG). Aaron always loved and supported his brother, his best friend. He was so loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephew, always bringing his help, support and joyful smile to everyone. The love of his life was his daughter, Emma, who he adored, cherished and was so very proud of. He and her mother, Aundrea, worked together to surround their child with love.

Aaron’s life reminds us that no matter who we are, our legacies are not measured by awards or accolades but by the lives we have touched.

Aaron is survived by his daughter, Emma, his parents, brother, Nicholas, (Dione), grandmother, Catherine Schubach, extensive family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Richard Schubach, William and Catherine Goodwin.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 1 at 2:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 Spring Lane, Holladay, UT.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Aaron’s name.

In Loving Memory

Sad to hear this news. Aaron was a colorful guy and lived life to the fullest. He was a great businessman and did so much to push the family business even further. He was a father who loved his daughter Emma and Aundrea. A true Judge Alumni - Aaron will be missed...
