Aaron Vance Johnson
November 17, 1983 - July 25, 2014
Our beloved son, brother and uncle, Aaron Vance Johnson "Skinny," courageously left this world on July 25th, 2014 after battling cancer for the second time. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family and friends whom he had touched throughout his short, yet very memorable life.
For years he dealt with the results of treatment for this dreaded disease but never became bitter or full of self- pity. With his recent diagnosis, he fought hard, – never quitting, saying he did not have a "give up button". Aaron had plenty of achievements during his life but most important was his ability to be courageous, generous and kind. His love and generosity for others was only outweighed by his unwav-ering devotion to family and friends, which will be truly missed.
Aaron's greatest loves in life were his two nephews, Ryker and Cole along with his dogs Brandy and Dags. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed rock climbing, snowboarding, and fishing. Aaron loved watching Real Soccer and the Colorado Avalanche.
Aaron leaves behind a devoted mother Lera Johnson; his father Ken (Laura) Johnson; brothers Bryant (Becky), Brandon (Jesse); and his nephews Ryker, Cole and another one on the way. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
We will celebrate Aaron's life on Thursday, July 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where complimentary valet parking will be provided on the north side of the building. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 1st at 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 Redwood Road, West Jordan, his final resting place will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Because of Aaron's love of animals and in lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to Miracle Meadows, LLC a farm, which rescues animals. Donations can be sent to 3459 Sunnybrook Drive, West Valley City, Utah. 84119.
Aaron was an example for those who knew him, helping others to recognize what really matters most in life is to forgive with no animosity. He was full of love, good advice, and simple wisdom.
As Aaron would say… "No Worries."
In Loving Memory
You will forever be in my heart. I look back a lot on when we lived together. You are the only housemate I ever had that I still liked after and I swear that if I wouldn't have moved in with my boyfriend we would have lived together for the rest of forever. Holing up in one of our rooms with a bottle of Jameson and good conversation. Sitting on the porch all night long. Endlessly scheming on the other housemates. Cooking your cabbage stuff that made the whole house smell. Dog walks and puppy whispers. You are one of the best people I have ever met. I miss you

We didn't know Skinny, but he was a great friend and forever brother to our son Michael ("Mikey"). Although you are no longer here with us, your love of life, friendships, and true faith stays here with us everyday. May we all take some of Skinny and apply it in our lives and make each day count, as Skinny did. Skinny, THANKYOU for befriending our son and making his life better. May you rest in heaven, and enjoy God's true gift, Eternal Life.

I had the great opportunity of getting to know Aaron while working at the Doctors office. I truly enjoyed getting to know him with every visit. It got to the point where I made sure I was able to seat him, for I enjoyed his company so. He made me smile, He made me laugh. His calm, caring, and positive demeanor made me forget sometimes that he was the patient. I am so grateful for the good fortune of meeting such an amazing person. "No worries Aaron!" I did not know Aaron personally, but I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for your family. At times like this,I have personally found Jesus Christ's words at John 5:28,29 to be truly comforting. There he promised that "the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out...to a resurrection of life." I look forward to the time when I can see my loved ones again so much. Feel free to contact me at the attached email address and again I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for that the last months have been such a struggle.I was very fortunate to see Aaron at the hospital before his passing. He always had such a great sense of humor.
