Addie Stowers
July 16, 1941 - December 21, 2021
On December 21, 2021 we lost an amazing woman. But did we really lose? We are all better people having known her so if you think about it, we’ve gained rather than lost.
Addie was mom to all who knew her, related or not. She wasn’t just a mom, she was “mom.” She embodied the word and lived it daily. She was the cutest damn lady you ever did see and the best mother she could be. She was a proud mother and a very proud grandmother. Addie was loved by her children Paul (Heidi), John (Michele), Tracy (Mike), and Michael. And her grandchildren Olivia, Sophia, Emmy, Hailey and Alec.
She was surrounded by family and was able to say her goodbyes. She knew it was time, she made her decision, she was at peace. Addie’s will to live kept her going no matter what life threw at her, she was a tough old bird. When it was time she said, “drape me in purple and tell heaven to get ready!” And get ready heaven did.
A deep and special thanks to those at St. Joseph’s Villa for the phenomenal care they provided for our mother. Acknowledgments go out to Starks Funeral Parlor for their great kindness and care for us and our mother.
A viewing will be held Wednesday December 29th at 9:00am at St. Joseph’s Villa 451 Bishop Federal Ln SLC, Ut. At 10:00am a funeral mass will be celebrated. Addie will be laid to rest at Mount Cavalry, 4th Ave. & “T” Street following the mass.
In Loving Memory
Addie was the ultimate manifestation of love, family, and goodness. Equipped with sharp wits, a great sense of humor, and all the stories in the world and you get one of the most special ladies any of us have had the privilege of knowing. To the Stowers family - I cannot recall a single encounter with Addie that didn't result in her talking about how much she loved you all. Thank you for sharing her with me and the rest of the world. "Listen to old people!"

Tracy and Emmy, you are the most beautiful examples a mom and grandmom can send into the world. This is a lady that all of Heaven is radiating joy to receive. If I had greater fortune, I'd have been very lucky in deed to sit and enjoy her sweet smile the same as I do when I see you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of sorrow in being parted. But, our hearts tell us that God's immense joy and peace are with her now and shared with you, always. Thank you so much for sharing your Mom and GrandMom with me!

I was was shocked and saddened at the news of Addie's death. Our relationship was a short one, just a few days in rehab. At St Joseph's Villa. I found Addie to be one of the kindest, sweetest women I have ever met. I felt as if I had known her and her family who came to visit her forever. Addie will be missed by everyone who knew her. If you had the good fortune to meet her your life was changed for the good. I only regret I wasn't able to have more time.
